RS-485 is everywhere including high-end base stations, surveillance, HVAC control, POS terminals, and industrial networks. The harsh environments and long distances over which RS-485 links run mean they are often assaulted with a broad range of electrical transient spikes. Semtech offers a broad range of TVS diodes to protect the RS-485 interface from such transient threats.
