Microchip presents a PICtail daughter board that enables rapid development with the RN1810 low power 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module

Image of Microchip's RN1810 Wi-Fi PICtail™/PICtail Plus Daughter BoardBased on Microchip's low-power IEEE 802.11b / g / n Wi-Fi module, the RN1810, the RN1810 PICtail / PICtail plus daughter board allows customers to easily develop Wi-Fi applications using Microchip’s 8-, 16-, and 32-bit PIC® microcontrollers. The kit includes a fully integrated TCP / IP stack allowing for a simple serial to Wi-Fi connection to the microcontroller. The board features a USB interface for easy plug-and-play development with a PC. The board is also compatible with the Explorer 16 development board (DM240001), PICDEM.net2 development board (DM163024), and PIC32 starter kit (DM320001) with I/O expansion board (DM320002).

  • UART interface to host controller (4-wire including RTS / CTS)
  • Configured using simple ASCII commands
  • Supports infrastructure and SoftAP networking modes
  • Built-in networking applications:  IPv4 / IPv6, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, HTTP, FTP, SNTP, and SSL / TLS
  • Supports infrastructure and SoftAP networking modes
  • Complete on-board TCP / IP networking
  • Upgrade firmware over the air using TFTP
  • Supports Wi-Fi protected setup (WPS)
  • Modular certified for the United States (FCC), Canada (IC), Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan
