Relays are essentially electromagnetic switches activated by a low power signal or current in one circuit to open or close another circuit. They are most commonly used in power system networks and multiple automotive and industrial applications or HVAC where the system is controlled by 24 VAC, 120 VAC, or 240 VAC.
